Mary J. Ruggles

As a long time resident of Sonoma County, Mary took up watercolor painting when her children were in high school.  Mary has long been a lover of art, and as a student of art history, she has developed a critical eye and an extensive understanding of some of the greatest artists throughout history.  Over time, she has developed a unique style based on the techniques of some of her favorite art and artists, including Monet, and Renoir.

    Although she is an active member of Watercolor Artists of Sonoma County (WASCO) and the Artists Round Table of Santa Rosa,  Mary still finds time to teach introductory courses in sketching, water color, and Japanese brush painting to children of all ages.
